CELEBRATING 5 YEARS OF RETHINKING CREATIVITY IN THE WORKPLACE

Humbled. Grateful. Inspired.

This is how I sum up our 5 year journey together.

I started InnovatorsBox with a simple but vital question driven by my own experiences:

How can we create, innovate, and thrive at work?

As many of you know, before I created InnovatorsBox I was a nuclear nonproliferation expert.
While I loved my industry, I found myself stuck in nonstop meetings and Excel spreadsheets.

I began to wonder when it became normal for us, as a workforce, to feel stagnant, stressed, and burnt out.

I also began to wonder what would happen if we were encouraged to feel more creative and started to feel more alive by our work?

To find answers, I turned to the experts on workplace creativity. I quickly discovered that the “experts” did not address my pain points. They did not understand that it can be possible to feel limitless at work—without having to find a new job.

So I started to challenge myself to look at everything in my day—from my coffee, to my commute, to my cubicle—differently. The results were immediate.

I learned that shifting my mindset was the secret to re-loving my job. I was blown away. Everything was more exciting. I solved complex problems better. I became more productive. But most importantly, I was happier.
I wondered, “How can I share my experience with everyone who needs it? What if more and more people around the world went to work excited and empowered to embrace their creativity?”

Today, as I reflect on my journey as an entrepreneur, and on what we’ve built together, I know the world of work I created for myself has created a movement.

I’ve seen clients create and sustain workplaces that are alive—where people feel appreciated, valued, and encouraged to be their full creative selves regardless of their industry, title, or age.

Over five years, we’ve learned a lot and created a lot:

• We’ve served clients globally.
• We’ve delivered trainings, workshops, consulting and coaching sessions, and keynote speeches.
• We’ve worked across five generations.
• We’ve published our book in English and Korean and contributed regularly to Forbes.
• We’ve designed and manufactured a product line.
• We’ve created a YouTube channel.
• We’ve built an international online community.
• We’ve continued to make an impact in the face of a global pandemic.

The Future of Work is here and we’re here for you, and with you.
