How you say it. When you say it. And what you say. It all matters.

If you agree to support your team to be creative, how are you delivering that message?
If you want to encourage your team to take risks, how are you communicate that space and possibility to them?

Setting boundaries in where one can experiment and be creative can help but how you deliver that message is foremost important.

Are you saying “yes, but” narrative or “yes, and”? That small language difference can make all the difference in renewing trusted grounds in your team or reminders on why it feels unsafe to bring up new ideas.

Most leaders and teams mean good will. The gap is in action and communication. How are you filling that gap and finding ways to renew and build trust?

What can you do in 2019 to renew the trust with them?

With love,
